eduOER service is an Open Educational Resources Metadata Aggregation Hub & Portal Service with the aim at facilitating access to digital multimedia content at the European level in the form of repositories, infrastructures and services.
Educational repositories and relevant content providers are invited to expose and share metadata (i.e the information about the content) of their open educational resources via the eduOER Hub. The eduOER Hub is the back-end engine behind the OER Web Portal. It also provides value-added services to the connected repositories in order to discover, analyse, validate and enrich their metadata.
The very first step for you as an administrator of a repository or a relevant content provider, wishes to become part of the eduOER Service is to fill in and submit the short questionnaire about your repository below.

The eduOER Metadata Aggregation Workflow consists of several independent processing steps where metadata cleansing, transformation and curation is performed.
A set of value-added services are offered below by the eduOER service. Some of these services may be required in order to comply with the eduOER Metadata Aggregation Workflow. The metadata engineering team is there to help you understand what you need.
The eduOER metadata analytics service is a web application that offers a deeper insight of your metadata, based on statistics. With this service, you can diagnose insufficient metadata curation practices and get a more descriptive picture of your metadata (what specific elements are used). After uploading the metadata and configuring the specific statistical analysis, you can get the results either in CSV file format or via the visualization of the web application (see example). This service is provided by GRNET the Greek Research and Education Network.OAI-PMH is a rich protocol preferred by many aggregation sites using state-of-the-art harvesters. This service is targeting those institutional repositories that do not yet use OAI-PMH protocol for exposing their metadata.
If you want to expose your metadata via the OAI-PMH protocol, you can simply upload your metadata XML files in a zipped folder and you will automatically get an OAI-PMH endpoint that can be consumed by the eduOER Hub or any other aggregation site using an OAI-PMH compliant harvester.
This service is provided by GRNET the Greek Research and Education Network.This service helps you mapping and transforming your metadata, the eduOER Application Profile (or any other application profiles you may choose). The workflow is the following: First, you upload a sample of your metadata into the MINT mapping tool. The tool automatically recognizes the native schema of your metadata and let you define the semantic mappings between the source and target schemas. Finally, an XSLT mapping file implementing the mapping rules is generated. The mapping file can then be used as the input to the internal eduOER transformation mechanism. This service is provided by NTUA the National Technical University of Athens.Once your metadata is mapped and transformed into the necessary schema (or it was already compliant), you can validate your entire repository both in syntactic and semantic terms against this schema using this service. All you have to do is either upload your metadata XML file or provide the OAI-PMH target URL and you will receive the relative validation report.
This service is provided by Ariadne Foundation a not-for-profit association.During the entire eduOER Metadata Aggregation Worflow, you can use the eduOER metadata aggregation dashboard, in order to monitor, at each and every step, the progress and the results of the aggregation workflow. You can follow the progress of the complete eduOER federation or exclusively your own repository.
In addition, the eduOER metadata analysis dashboard can also be used to get an insight of the harvested metadata.
In this way, all interested parties (aggregation analysts, data providers, etc.), can have a rough estimation on the overall metadata quality.
The eduOER Search API module, is a Drupal 7 module that could be used for easy integration of the eduOER API Content and Searching capabilities to any Drupal implemented site.
